IARS is looking to recruit 10 women from all backgrounds for its Women’s Advisory Board (WAB). The WAB’s role is to serve as an independent user-led panel, with the objective to empower women, make a tangible change to policy and give their unfiltered perspectives on the work done by IARS. We are looking for members, who wish to evaluate, discuss and advise on IARS’ gender related projects and take on a responsible role within the organisation.

Alongside its advisory and scrutiny role, the WAB is helping to develop a training course for organisations, who may be supporting refugee and asylum seeking women. This training aims to allow organisations that may come into contact with vulnerable women to understand how the past experiences and every day pressures of refugees and asylum seekers are impacting their lives and what are the most effective responses. In addition the WAB will have an active role in our new Heritage Project, which aims to make a difference to the lives of Latin American women in North London.

If you wish to apply, please send your CV and a brief Cover Letter to contact@iars.org.uk
