IARS' Director Dr. Theo Gavrielides' greatly anticipated book Rights and Restoration within Youth Justice was launched on Thursday 10th May at the Centre for Restorative Justice at Simon Fraser University, in Vancouver, Canada. The book launch was accompanied by a talk held by Dr. Theo Gavrielides, a dialogue discussion and lastly, a book signing.

At a critical point in time for Greece, UK and Europe, three key organisations are bringing together leading international experts in the field of human rights and restorative justice to explore new avenues to deal with growing levels of violence. The symposium is organised under the leadership of Prof. Theo Gavrielides and Prof. Vasso Artinopoulou.
About the role
The Marketing and Communications Officer is an exciting new role within IARS and the successful candidate will enable IARS' messages, publications and services to reach new audiences.
The successful candidate's main tasks will be to: market IARS’ products and services; communicate its research and policy work and messages to the widest possible audience in the UK, Europe and beyond; increase IARS’ profile within print and broadcast media, and ensure we have maximum impact and can influence change.
IARS' Director Dr. Theo Gavrielides was in Vancouver, Canada from May 5th - 12th 2012, to promote IARS work on the application of restorative justice in response to the riots in Vancouver and London. The activities are based on a joint IARS - Simon Fraser University research project on restorative justice and street group violence.
