IARS held its first Youth Policy Response Group (YPRG) meeting on 11th April 2011. The YPRG replaces the Youth-led Sector Policy Forum and provides members with the opportunity to contribute to focused discussions on specific areas of youth policy.
The subject at the centre of discussion for the first YPRG meeting was the National Curriculum Review Call for Evidence. Organisations represented at the meeting included the Anne Frank Trust UK, The British Youth Council, The Citizenship Foundation, Envision and Foyer Federation. YPRG members drew on their expertise and research in citizenship education and public legal education in order to submit a collective submission.
The YPRG's submission to the Call for Evidence can be found in IARS' on-line library and can be viewed by clicking here.
The next YPRG meeting is set to discuss the Reform of the Equality and Human Rights Commission; further details of which will follow shortly. The discussion will inform a joint submission to the consultation taking place around this proposed reform.
